CoE Women in STEM Undergraduate Understanding Self and Others (USO) Group
Time/Day: Tuesdays, 1:00pm-2:30pm
Facilitated by Kayla Douglas, LLMSW and Marya Jan, MA
This interpersonal process group is designed for CoE undergraduate students who identify as women and want to explore personal growth and gain awareness to enhance their functioning across settings: relationally, academically and professionally. As a result of systemic inequalities and societal norms, women are underrepresented in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields and careers and therefore may experience unique challenges. We hope this group will provide a collaborative, inclusive space for undergraduate women in the college of engineering to foster healthy self-concepts and instill hope for the future through a sense of shared experiences. This confidential group requires a semester-long commitment. Please email caps-engin@umich.edu before February 4th, 2022 to register.
